THE YEAR IS 1977 and the Olympians are planning their annual Olympic Battale, a fight to the death between selected demigods to prove who is most worthy of immortality.

Kira Warner comes home one day to see an owl perched on her window. Clutched between its talons is a red letter; Athena writes that she is Kira's mother and informs her that she has been selected to fight for the Goddess of Wisdom's honor. Reluctantly, Kira joins the tournament being held in Eris' Triangle; there she meets the 17 other demigods who have been handpicked by their parents to fight to their death. Almost immediately, Kira realizes that joining this game may have been a bad idea.

It was suppose to be regulare Winter Solstice. The first one after the second war. The usual boring meeting of the gods that was to take place. The event to happen after was what many gods, satyrs, nymphs and demigods looked forward to. The party that would be hosted on Olympus. All Olympians were together. The demigods that were also in the room followed suit. They were all greeted by the sight of a simple hearth inside a rustic looking home. A little girl whose form seemed to shift. Though their attention was drawn to the young male who was adding a log to the fire before he noticed them. "Ah, come take a seat. Welcome to the Hearth's Home." Came a warm greeting from the male. Without noticing they all put their weapons away.
