Violet was born in a little tent on the southern banks of the Mississippi River to a 16-year old wanderer and the man with the scars on his back. Violet was quiet, kept to herself and grew with every passing day under her mothers instruction. But her quiet albeit unconventional life is thwarted when Raphael Kane takes her away from all that she had known. She is left with no choice but to acknowledge the powers she had attempted for years to keep under control because whether she liked it or not, they were after her.
