Cassius enters the palace with the intention of killing the Emperor-to-be, but somehow he finds himself with a new task. The Emperor's son possesses an air that throws Cassius' world upside down. One minute he's trying to kill the heir, the next he's employed as a bodyguard.

Being a bodyguard to the persuasive heir is not a walk in the park, however. Takeeo is manipulative, seductive, and quite possibly lethal.

Navigating the palace with all its back-stabbers and ambitious traitors proves to be far more complicated than merely killing people for money, but Cassius is not a man who gives up. Especially not when his cold heart gets involved.
