Jest rok 2042. Dokładnie dwadzieścia lat temu, otworzono serwery pierwszej gry typu VRMMO, Sword Art Online. Była to zabójcza gra. Kto się raz zalogował, nie mógł się wylogować, dopóki nie zostanie pokonany stu poziomowy zamek Aincrad. Śmierć w grze oznaczała śmierć w prawdziwym świecie.
Właśnie w tej grze poznali się moi rodzice.
Nazywam się Mari Kirigaya i mam piętnaście lat. Po mamie i tacie odziedziczyłam pasję do gier. A teraz, dokładnie w dwudziestą rocznicę tragedii SAO, wychodzi nowa gra, Labirynth Online. Przypomina ona bardzo Sword Art, ale opiera się na mitologii greckiej.
Jak widać, historia lubi się powtarzać...

In the year 2022, a man invented something ground breaking, a device called NerveGear, that allows people to fully dive into a video game. This man, is Akihiko Kayaba, a man who secretly has a twisted mind. Sword Art Online is the most anticipated VRMMORPG game that was created for the NerveGear. One month before the full release of the game, 10 000 people were given the closed beta to Sword Art Online. One of these people were Y/n L/n, a player that would reach the highest floor out of all the other beta testers. The Black Swordsman
This is a retelling of my least favorite arc in, "Sword Art Online," which is the, "Fairy Dance Arc." I am going to attempt writing my own version of the story that is much darker and focuses on things that the original arc didn't focus on. The story follows Kirito, after he wakes up from beating, "Sword Art Online." He learns that Asuna didn't wake up with him and he now struggles to find a reason to keep trying to live his life. Once he learns that Asuna is still alive in a different game, he must find the motivation to become the player that he once was in, "Sword Art Online," in order to save her from a threat unlike anything he has faced, before. The one who found it didn't know the gods had shaped it, nor did they understand the weight of what they held. But the sword recognized them. It responded to their strength, their resolve, and their needs. As the blade cut through the darkness for the first time, it wasn't just its edge that brought change. It was the force behind it-the will to fight for survival, for something greater than fear. With every swing, the sword grew brighter, stronger, as if it fed not on blood but on purpose. Though the gods forged the blade, it wasn't theirs anymore. In that moment, it became part of humanity, a bond between the divine and mortal worlds. Kirito and I collapse out of breath, the sign above us screams 'Winner' as he defeated the boss of floor 11. "We did it." I say in between breaths. "Yeah.. well done." Kirito replies as he sat up.
