We throw that saying around a lot. But what if it's true? What if you're the last girl alive?
Ji-li has spent her entire life in a laboratory. Her entire life has been, thus far, planned out for her via computers and nameless, faceless scientists she doesn't know for certain exist. Then one day, a malfunction in the system allows her out of the lab for the first time in her life. What awaits her is nothing like what her robots have told her.
Andry has spent his entire life in a canyon with the knowledge that, out of the mountains, there is nothing. Everything has been decimated, died, and no civilization exists. Other than him, Nana Tasha, Papa Trenton, and the small village he lives in, there is nothing else. As far as he knows, they live in a world as big as 10 miles long and 1 mile wide.
That's what they thought, until they met each other. Ji-li and Andry realize there is more to the world then what they've been told. But do they want to know?

She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. I pull my ice axe out of the head of the zombie I just killed and put my gun back in, to immediately reach for my knife, and directly throwing at a Z. 3... We continue killing. 4... 5... 6... I hear them all breath heavily. 7... Shit, my arm starts hurting, but I can't stop, or else I get killed. *THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus.
