How do I Write?

Well on average, I sit down and hope the characters do their job and tell me a story. But if we ignore the lack of discipline in my writing style and my characters, there are a few bits and pieces I've picked up along the way over the last 9 years and 10 novels.

How to plot?
How to add depth to a character?
How to paint a backdrop?
So on and so forth?

I've come up with little ways around each of these questions.

While my tricks may not work for everyone, I hope it will help spur your stories from the mind to pen to the paper to the public's bookshelves.

(Or the mind to the computer screen because let's face it, I never write novels long hand)
