Avenue for Hope

A Carrier's job is to be a surrogate for genetically engineered babies, created to be perfect members of society. They are society's hope, and all Carriers must do is act as avenues for that hope. But when Carrier 88 births a female child, she knows that baby will never grow up to have any hope of her own, but will instead be used by society for one of only three jobs a woman may have: Comforter, Caregiver, or Carrier. So when an opportunity to break the societal mold arises, Carrier 88 must decide what to do: act as an avenue of hope for society? Or for herself and the baby?
