Then, unexpentantly, Ian has to move to another state with his parents, leaving little Benny without a friend and confused feelings. Benny and Ian didn't keep in touch, basically cutting off their friendship. But, before he goes, he promises to be back. After nine years of agonizingly missing Benny, Ian goes back, like promised, to California to see that Benny's still there. Noah moved to a new town just a few weeks before school starts back up again. He meets a few people on his bus and they end up best friends.
