Agender Karter Leon Loren is a 16 year old freshmen transferring to Lee-Orsen High School. Being new to the town of Garden City and Lee-Orsen High, Karter just wants to be treated like an ordinary kid.
Josephine "Harley" Lea Manaroe has lived in Garden City all 15 years of her life and is anything but ordinary, and all she wants for her 16th birthday is a motorcycle.
After a rough start, Harley and Karter become fast friends after seeing each other every day across the waiting room of the hospital their sisters are admitted into after a car accident leaving them both in a coma, and causing Harleys birthday wish list to find itself in the trash.
Garden City is a real place, but I'm just borrowing the name... :)
