Cullen and Elise are perfectly happy, after mending the damage done to Honnleath, they moved to Cullen's childhood home, raising their daughter.
As Evune grows older, she finds friends in the other children, especially Sarah Lavellan, daughter of Inquisitor Lavellan and Blackwall. The girls are inseparable, and swore an oath as ten year olds to help one another and protect each other with their lives.
When Evune discovers her magical abilities, Sarah and Evune cast themselves out on the road, as Evune fears her father, Cullen, will send her to the circle.
