Her name was Alice.

Life never turned out what she thought it would be. After her mom died, life took a turn for the worst. She didn't have a single friend for comfort and her abusive father wasn't the ideal alternative.

She was uncomfortable everywhere she went, she didn't feel as if she belonged. No one ever really even talked to her.

I took it upon myself to retell her story and to share her thoughts, actions and impulses.

This is a true story.

But what Nathan didn't know was that every time he talked to her, he was making her life harder. Her carefully constructed world was unraveling, and at home, she paid the price for letting anyone in. The more Nathan pushed, the more Sophia distanced herself, and Nathan couldn't figure out why. The more he wanted to break through her walls, the more he found himself tangled in the mystery of why she always kept him at arm's length.
