We have all known grim reaper(also known as death) as the one that escorts all-good or evil-from the land of the living to the netherworld when the time comes. He guides the deceased to the afterlife, without having any control over when or how the victim dies.
But how about we give grim reaper a little twist in his world and add someone that would give him somehow life and love.
