4 kingdoms, 52 cards, 2000+ entitled royals and nobles, all stuck on 1 tiny island for 3 months. What could go wrong?
This is the reality at the Deck. Bare with me now...
A long time ago, the world was split into four reigning kingdoms: Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, and Clubs. Each was divided into ten regions: Two- Nine and Ace. One Card headed each region and were overseen by the King. Once a year for three months, every card, including kings, queens, and jacks, as well as their extended families gathered on a small island known as the deck to hash out policies, inform each other of current events, secure marriages, etc. As you can guess, this is a dreadful time for everybody.
This year's time at the deck lacks no drama. The king of spades' health is deteriorating while his son remains unmarried, the rightful crown princess of hearts is going crazy and nobody cares, the crown princess of clubs is missing and the king wants answers, and diamonds is acting more suspicious then usual.

This is a working draft, so there may be errors and inconsistencies. I would love any and all feedback and critique
Legend has it, if you stand in front of a mirror, shuffling an enchanted deck of cards, you can open a doorway between dimensions.

Prince Teodric of Springport remembers the promise he made his father: to *not* try to reenact the legend of dimensions. At sixteen, he laughed at his father's claims that there were ways of traveling through portals to other realms; but five years later, as sole heir to his recently deceased father's kingdom, the eerie tale somehow re-enters his mind, and with it a curious desire to break his promise. To see if, as his father said, other dimensions existed, and one traveled to them via cards and mirrors. But Teo gets more than he ever dreamed he would, and soon wakes in a realm of the imaginary, the insane, and the impossible... only to find he switched places with a knave named Jack of Spades.
