I was completely taken aback from his comment. I was speechless.
"What?" His thick brown eyebrow raised, while the smirk on his face grew larger. "Does Veronica Smith; the Queen of spitfire, not have a sassy comeback?"
I don't know what happened. His face was so close, maybe I was just caught in the heat of mood.
