Tokyo Metropolis is a grand city. You wouldn't tell that it rose from complete chaos, which destroyed what used to be Tokyo. However, it's no utopia, as for every new advance there is a challenge. Tokyo Metropolis is threatened by attacks from another planet... of which nobody knows about.
Scientists discovered the abilities of a type of stone - dubbed a "Melody Stone" - which can be unlocked by the owner's singing voice, and thus begins the Spectrum Project; a 5-piece idol group - made up of Aoki, Bronja, Mami, Yoru and Usagi - using the powers of their individual Melody Stones to fight against the threat, protect Tokyo Metropolis' military and distract the general public from any attacks.
But, when the girls find out more about their powers, will they be able to carry on?

Out of that number, my hometown Chantless takes up 64,730. Out of that, one of them is me. A few years ago, the government finally realized they needed to do something about our population. So they decided to make a game out of it. They call it "Do You Have Talent?" They say it's a game show that puts people's abilities and talents to the test. To see if they are worth keeping alive. So far, I've lost my father, my friend, and my brother to this little "game". And I may be next. But I won't let that happen. For I have a trick up my sleeve in my own game. ----------- Jasmine is a 16-almost-17 year old girl living in Chantless, a poor town located close to the ocean. She seems like an ordinary girl, struggling to survive with little food, contaminated water, and a stub of a hand every day, but she has a secret no one else knows. Unexpectedly, she is chosen to participate in "Do You Have Talent?"; a wicked and ruthless game show created by the government to handle overpopulation. She meets Liz and Bryan, two other contestants who have also lost family members from this heartless monstrosity. Jasmine befriends them, and finally she has something to lose in her life. After what some may call a massive human extermination, life expectancy on earth is slim to none and whatever is left is basically hopeless. Survivors have split into factions and are forming rival gangs in which they are disappearing at exponential rates due to government kidnappings. Rumor is, the government is planning a meta human attack by altering the dna of those who've been taken. Once word is out everyone has to decide whether gang related battles are more important than life itself as they know it. If that isn't enough they join forces with omniscient beings, extraterrestrials, and some beings that cant really be put into one category. They find that the government isn't all laws and science and that the battle they're facing is way more complex than they could have ever imagined.
