This tale is the weird, but heart-warming story of a young boy from a small Kansas town and his best friend, Hugo, who happens to be a colossal Lovecraftian monster that lives up in the sky high above.
I wrote this story on something of a strange whim. It just sort of came to me out of the blue and once it was in my head I felt motivated to continue writing it until the end. It's kind of an oddball parody of children's fiction blended with Lovecraftian horror; sort of a throwback to some of the strange fantasy we used to see from horror anthology series like "Goosebumps" and "Tales From The Crypt".

A boy and a girl (Patrick and Carrie) are best friends and do everything together. When Patrick was drafted into the war Carrie decided to join as well and they stayed by each others sides. When Patrick went off with a different troop something bad happened and Carrie thought he died. She knew that he wasn't dead and decided to find him, even if it took her entire lifetime, and was taken to a lair by doctors from the military. She was now had special abilities and was classified as a defender of Earth and she could finally find her friend.
