The story follows the life of Cassandra Woods a vampire who falls deeply in love with a 554-year-old vampire named Ethan Salvatore. Their relationship becomes increasingly complicated as Cassandra's vicious and malevolent older sister Cataleya Woods returns with a plan to wreak havoc on the town, seeking revenge against her younger sister for killing the love of her life. It is revealed that Cataleya is a raging monster, who eventually returns with plans against the duo. Cassandra undergoes many hardships and deaths of close family members and loved ones through her high school experience.
