When Rose's mother gets murdered and Rose is the only witness, it puts a lot of pressure on the 10 year old girl. She ends up living with her father and stepmother. Her father wants to send her to a boarding school, far away but her stepmother refuses, saying that this young girl has been separated from enough family members. 

As Rose grows, she begins to have nightmares about the night her mother was murdered. She starts to flinch every time she hears a scream, or heavy footsteps. Everything takes a turn when she notices that people are glowing. Some color of the glows are different, some are the same. What will Rose do? IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. I can't focus on anything. IT looks at me, IT's eyes are all gray. IT smirks and stands all of the way up, towering over me. I pull myself up and wobble away from IT on unsteady feet. I look back to see IT laughing, watching me walk away. I can't hear her terrible laughter, and I don't want... to... I fall over, feeling woozy. My head spins and I sway as I try to stand. I look back again, to see that the fog has covered my path, and I can only see a couple of inches away from my face.
