Are myths just myths and what caused them to exist in 1st place? Black magic, cults and rituals do they work or are we just under one big illusion of it working? Does science and psychology have all the  answers to what we see and hear out of the ordinary? 

Alex Reagan a canadian journalists has a major interest in the paranormal and ghost huntings. She's working on a new project and meets with Dr. Richard Strand a psychologist and paranormal investigator who doesn't believe in supernatural, he's a skeptic..a big one. He has a serial of unsolved paranormal cases in VHS tapes which is later known as the black tapes. Alex takes in interest in them together with her producer friend Nick. But with every tape reaveals something in common - Dr. Strand and his past. He's not someone Alex thought he was but it applies there's much deeper than just demons and religious  mythologist that lies behind those tapes. Alex and Dr. Strand must solve these riddles before their lives and everybodys in serious danger.

Alexis Hart or Smith, as she prefers, grew up learning to hunt the things that go bump in the night. It was her life. She was taught it was the only thing that mattered. Dean had even introduced her to his little brother Sam. When John came back from his hunt Dean did something Alexis had least expected. He asked of she could stay with them, seeing she had no where else to go. John pitied her and let her tag along. Now, almost thirteen years later dean and Alexis are still best friends. They still hunt together. And when John goes missing Alexis is determined to help Dean find his father. Dean and Alexis break into Sams college apartment in hopes of convincing him to help them. Alexis also has to figure out what these weird dizzy spells she keeps getting are. What happens when she starts to think they are more than just dizzy spells? After everything that happened with the demon Alexis was more confused than ever about what was going on with her. The doctors told her that she healed very quickly after the car accident. Unexpectedly quickly. Now she was trying to figure out what the demon meant and help the Winchester's with the death of their father. All while helping hunt down this demon, meeting new hunters, and realizing that Dean means a lot more to her than she previously had thought. She also can't shake the feeling she's being watched all the time. She starts to uncover the dark secrets of her family. Of her mother's. She tries to figure out what the demon wants from her, and how she can help kill it. And now, her nightmares have went from keeping her up for a few hours to scared to even close her eyes. The nightmares are getting more and more vivid as she watches them unfold every night. She can't stand the feeling of helplessness she has to live with now. The jumping at every shadow behind her, the fear of the dark and what lurks inside it, the dread that never leaves, the horror that awaits her every time she drifts off to sleep.
