The stigma surrounding mental issues is HUGE. These mental disorders can destroy lives, turning them into a hurricane of hurt. The problem for Mariah, Chris, Ryan, and Ashley is they're still expected to act normal as they endure the horrors of high school. Mariah is a sophomore cheerleader with fantastic grades and a few close friends. But what happens when the small voices in the back of her head leave her feeling unable to do anything? Chris is the star football player and the most popular guy in school. Even as a junior, colleges everywhere are practically begging for him to attend. But they don't know about his dad's addiction or his mom's alcoholism, and he fears that if anyone knows, he won't be able to play football anymore. Ryan is the epitome of a band nerd. He loves his french horn more than anything in the world, including himself. His self confidence isn't helped by the constant, berating words of his peers. Ashley has it good. She has great friends and loves her choir (even if she isn't as good as Macy). But she hates her body and is willing to do anything to be skinny. MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING: Pretty much every trigger warning imaginable. AN: Updates daily (most likely). This book is part of the Idea to Innovation project, where ordinary students do loads of research and make a project to change the world. I chose to take on mental illness after a student in my school tried to hang himself in the school's bathroom. My school district swept it under the rug and it's near forgotten. No one talks about it. That's why I chose to write this. This book is really close to my heart and a labour of love. If you ever feel like doing the unspeakable, please see the references at the beginning of the book. I'd love to hear from you. Love you all to the moon and back.
