Seta and Ishta are a couple of human brothers, infants found on the brink of death when they were rescued by Sinoans and brought up in a world of magic. They live day to day, dreaming of returning to the human world where they might have a chance to better their lives. Seta is used as a punching bag on a daily basis while his brother is forced to watch the abuse.

Shatay Taum is a shy misunderstood teenage Sinoan who spends all his time alone. He loves books and can often be found in the local library. One day, the library is full of noisy, obnoxious ingrates. In light of the situation, Shatay decides to leave early only to discover the local bully mistreating the human brothers.

Against his better judgement, Shatay decides to step in and help the brothers. This one impulsive act is enough to change his life forever.
