Sixteen year old Dorothy Gale was a foul-mouthed, angry young woman who struggled with depression, self-mutilation, and thoughts of suicide.  Her darkness stemmed from finding her alcoholic mother dead one evening, forcing her to move to her uncle's farm in southern Kansas after learning that her biological father wanted nothing to do with her.  She began smoking, cutting, and blowing-off her schoolwork, while dreaming of being anywhere but Kansas.  But just when she didn't think her world could get any darker, she suddenly found herself in the clutches of a rapist, and as she tried to fight off her attacker, the storm that had been brewing around her began escalating to tornadic proportions.  She was whisked away by the relentless winds, and when she awoke she found herself in a strange forest, soon discovering that as much as she hated Kansas, there were places that were much, much worse.All Rights Reserved
