Are promises really meant to be broken? If yes, then why does it hurt so much? If no, then what drove me to? How did I let a single promise change my life? This is not your typical love story. No matter how cliche it is, there's no denying we all want our happy endings...but not everyone ends up with one. So what do you do, when your whole life turns into a mess because of one promise? What do you do when you're falling apart but there is no way out because of one silly promise?

I wiped my tears again and put a determined expression in my eyes. I took the last shot, looking into his eyes. Everything would end now. Our love story, which we wanted everyone to hear but was not heard, would end. "I can't forgive what you did, no matter how much I love you." He opened his eyes wide. "But you said you forgave!" I continued talking, ignoring his words. "And know that I would never want to forgive someone like you!" He was devastated by my words and a few tears fell from his eyes. "I can't stand looking at your face anymore, so it's best to end it all," I said, hoping my voice wouldn't shake. Before turning around and leaving, I said, "I hope you forget me and move on happily with your life loving someone else. "I turned around and started walking without looking at his face one last time. I had only taken a few steps when I stopped because of what he was yelling. His words hit me like a slap. "How can you tell me that I can have a heart that beats for someone else after you turned your heart to ashes with your love! Don't go! Answer me!" Two broken souls in the midst of a crazy world. Two souls running away from their past. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel was cracking, slowly closing in. When these two connect, as if they were set on the same path, light creeps in through the cracks, and for or a moment, the tunnel seems to have a way out, but what if it collapses before they make it? - "You saved my life." The words come out as a whisper, I've been dying to say that. I thank god every day that he came into my life when he did. "Fuck Vivian, you don't know how much I needed you." I tear up just a little as he speaks, I don't know the last time I cried happy tears. I bring my hands up to cup his cheeks, resting my forehead against his. "No matter how much I push, I don't mean it. Please don't give up on me." My words seem to relieve him in some way as I feel his shoulders relax. "Even when I'm gone, I'll be by your side, forever." Promise you'll catch me; & don't let me down. Or at least not drop me on my face, like the last one did. Guys are so unpredictable, untrustworthy, easily bored, and always find a way to disappoint you. Not this one though! "Sometimes the things you need are right under your nose, and you'll miss them if you don't pay attention." That is what my mom always said anyway. Who knew she was right all along. Snapping out of my own thoughts I opened my eyes and he was still there. Down on one knee staring up at me, waiting on an answer. But why me? I ignored you, made you chase me, then brought drama into your life, bombarded you like a soldier on the front line, and invaded your life! Worked my way in like a flea. Yet you love me? REALLY? My hand balled into a fist and went flying before I could think. All I can say is you bet not let me down! Do not be like the others! Do not embarrass me! I'm giving my all to you, leaving it all in your hands... "Ouch!" Ok. Let's do this! I'm not sure how to put these feeling into words so the poetry and song titles are to help you feel what I am feeling as much as possible. This might get a little steamy at times! Hope you enjoy. 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 | ❝WHEN HAVE I EVER, BROKEN A PROMISE?❞ ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ Someone once told Carmen a promise. A promise that her younger brother would be safe if she left. A promise that her brother would no longer be a missing child who kidnapped. A promise that he wouldn't be murdered right in front of her like their mother was in front of him. Just for that promise to be broken, by the man who broke her. It wasn't until that moment that Carmen knew how much a broken promise could really hurt someone. So though Carmen forgot her whole self for thirty-five years. She forgot about 'her boys,' she forgot about her brother, she forget about her father, she forgot about her mother, but there's only one thing Carmen never forgot. The day a promise was broken, Carmen vowed to herself that she would keep her streak of never breaking a promise. And with that she promised herself, for her own sanity, to never keep her feelings bottled up. Because someone once told Carmen that it's not okay to bottle up your emotions. And she never did bottle her emotions up. She only had Theo to talk to, especially when being on the run from Hydra you couldn't exactly make other friends. But it's when Carmen and Theo see the news that a man Carmen once knew very well came back from being frozen and to fight someone named 'Loki from Asgard' did her interest peak. But in the end they never went back to see him, at the time it was too dangerous. And even now it still is, but they know they have to go back to Steve once finding out someone from Hydra is back; the winter soldier.
