This book is created to give information about the disease. Given this upward trend, the urgency of educating the population to prevent the further spread of HIV and avert a possible epidemic becomes paramount. Education will achieve two things. First, providing the population with accurate information would equip individuals with the knowledge to prevent HIV transmission to others and, for those who have not acquired the virus, to avoid getting infected. And second, it would help lessen the stigma and discrimination associated with the disease as, armed with correct information about HIV, people would be able to distinguish facts from falsehood, and would be encouraged to practice health seeking behavior and finally seek treatments.
