For centuries, vampires have existed. Practically unknown to humans, they lived in secret, hiding and doing whatever they could to survive. Claude von Morte, a once-powerful vampire leader, formed a coven of powerful, dangerous beings to follow his every order and manipulate, torment, and kill humans. When Ivy, a seventeen-year-old girl, is kidnapped, she soon realizes her circumstances are as unique as could be. She never was the most loveable or kind-hearted person, but at least she was human. Now, that last part isn't really true anymore.

"You'll be safe now." My protector whispers into my ear. "My protector." I murmur, happy I was able to get something out. My protector chuckles. "Yeah, something like that." He says. Then footsteps go down porch steps and a car starts, then the car sounds fade away and I fall asleep. *** Ivy is a regular eighteen year old. Ivy isn't human and she is just figuring this out.
