The Dark Hair

As Katlyn goes to her first year of middle school, it is hard to get by as she is the last family member in the world with dark brown hair. She struggles to keep her head held high as bullies roam the middle school grounds. As an only child and having brown hair, it is especially hard to make simple friends as everyone else in the world are different variations of blonde. Automatically being an outcast with her grandpa, another fellow needs to make contact with a girl. Ryan, a middle schooler who has never been friends with a girl, is determined to become friends with one, maybe even have a girlfriend. As Ryan goes to his first class he realizes he's stuck with the weird brown haired girl in all of his classes. Until their paired up for a science project, only then he realizes something about her that doesn't fit everyone else's description of weird. Will Katlyn ever have a normal life as a brown haired girl? Will she ever get to show her true personality to anyone? And will Ryan get to know how a girl is?
