In this futuristic world, no one needs to remember. Daily memories are uploaded to an e-cloud every evening, leaving space in the brain for more intensive opportunities, chances to relive favorite moments, and accurately retain life's details. But with a centralized, online database, individuals lose control over their experiences. Memories can be manipulated, overwritten, erased. Sixteen-year-old Robbie is one of the few thinking about these flaws and their accompanying risks, thanks to his mother's job as a data scientist. Her secret observations seem to indicate a government lying to its people, but what does this mean for Robbie, for his family, for society? There is one person who may be able to help him, a girl in his classes who may have similar thoughts and observations of a world not as efficient and advanced as it appears to be. Though Aliyah avoids him, Robbie continues to study her, looking for an opportunity to confirm his suspicions--until the day he discovers something that reveals someone else is watching him watching her.
