For many, many years, the job of Santa Claus has always been inherited by the first-born son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Once he turned eighteen, he would put on the red coat and take on the job of supplying the nice boys and girls of the world with wonderful presents. It wouldn't matter how many times it would take, but there would always be a first-born son. There had to be.
But this generation will be different. Mrs. Claus has died before giving birth to a son, leaving only a daughter for Santa to leave his beloved job to. And since Santa can only have one spouse, it's either hand the job over to Shirley, Santa's only child and daughter, or hand it over to Cousin Sammy, and Cousin Sammy isn't the best choice for the job.
Now, it's closing in on Shirley's eighteenth birthday and Santa's retirement, and with Cousin Sammy almost landing in prison every week, the choice is quite clear.
This year, Santa's going to be a girl.
