Masquerade

Persephone is a thief... for royals. They hire her to steal for them; mostly out of spite, not need. She sneaks into gilded bedrooms and takes jewels; she slips her slim hands into the purses and pockets of the wealthy.
Because of her clients, Persephone isn't poor like so many of her trade. She lives a fairly pampered life.
So why does she do it? Once she had enough money to live one, she started dealing in secrets. Sure, she would steal... if you told her your deepest, darkest secret. One feature gives her away. A distinctly heart shaped birthmark adorns her left cheek. So she wears a mask at all times to hid who she is.
When everyone has secrets, who can you really trust? Hidden faces and masked identities take the place of reality. Welcome to the masquerade.
