I was fidgeting in my seat, wishing desperately to sink into the ground beneath me.
The mere thought of being in a relationship again sent my anxiety into overdrive. I mean, don't get me wrong, Michael was nothing like Tye. Everything about him was..new.
Like that feeling of coming up for air, deeply satisfying.

And yet, that newness was the very thing that scared me.

"Promise me." I said holding his stare.

"Promise what?" He said, his eyebrows pulling together slightly.

"Just promise me." I said breathlessly on the verge of tears.

"I promise my love, now and forever." He said softly.
His thumb caressed my cheek, wiping away the tears that stained them.

"Forever.."
