An Oath to be Broken or Kept

"I will always watch over you. I will protect you from harm. I will never abandon or desert you. I will always be at your side until one of nobler blood comes to take my place."

They live together, they always have. Each is the other's existence. Will the appearance of a stranger break up their bond... or will it strengthen it?
