Erica Winters lives in a world where everything is absolutely perfect.

All individuals are ideal, without a single flaw. But Erica is different. No matter what, she can’t be like the others. She stands out from the middle of a crowd, noticeable and utterly imperfect, especially since Aline perished five months ago. The dauntless rebel inside of her she tried hard to stifle after Aline’s death is starting to return, accompanied by the unwanted insubordinate emotions. But the medics must have made a mistake, because when she opens her eyes, her defiant feelings are more powerful than ever. Hatred and antipathy consumes her whole, battling to come to the surface, while she forms an unlikely friendship with Aaron Forbes. 

When she finds a document that reveals the council’s true intentions...

Erica has to learn how to conceal her inner conflicts and figure out how to save not only the ones she loves, but the whole nation.
