JCA CONTEST ONE 1ST PLACE WINNER Once upon a time, people thought witches and warlocks were real. They were right. Despite being given a gift, most used their sorcery for evil and flaunted it with no concern. Their mistake. After the whole anomaly, almost all were killed. Now, even centuries later, governments across the world are trying to extinguish the endangered race. My race. My name is Amber Good, and I'm a descendant of Sarah Good, one of the first hanged in the Salem Witch Trials, and I'm running for my life. Ever since I was little, my parents, my father being a warlock descendent and my mother a witch, have moved my big brother, Parker, and me all over America to evade capture by the government. Our family on accusations of being witches and warlocks constantly fight to survive. Being a very powerful witch, I constantly have to practice my power, wholly so I can hold it down. Just a year ago, our parents went missing. Forced to move on, we have now relocated to Anaheim, California. Despite struggling between two lives and surviving against a deep-rooted hate determined to destroy my kind, there is one thing I do know: this is my story.

My grandmother is a witch. My mother is a witch. My sisters are witches (one of them in more ways than one). And to my complete and utter shock, I'm a witch too. Still powerless. Of course, if a certain Prince of Hell has his way, I won't remain without magic for long, because no matter how stubborn I am, the clock is ticking closer to the day I have to fulfill my end of the deal. A deal I made to save my family and friends. I was hoping those same family members and friends would help me figure a way out of this predicament, but I'm beginning to think I can't count on anyone. Clemmy and Caly are still missing. Harmony remains loyal to Luis. Willow is acting strange, disappearing at odd times and keeping secrets. Even worse, Ash seems determined to become the bad boy everyone thinks he is. All hope is lost until I stumble upon a secret that sheds light on the past. I have one shot to stop this sham wedding from happening, but it's going to require a lot of faith in the people who have let me down.
