Alex is a kind of normal teenager. She secretly fangirls over shows and characters at home, and speaks softly at school and in public.

 When a demon pops out of her television screen while home alone, not even the guard dog can help her. She fears getting a halfhearted motive to being sent to an alternate dimension and wished she would've just left the power box alone.

Now she's in a new world and there's an annoying voice in her head.

"He wouldn't have," he said, knowing that he was probably being arrogant but not caring. "He couldn't even bend." "So you stood up for me because you didn't want me to die?" "Well, we've had that conversation before. I promise that I really don't want you dead." "I didn't believe you the first time," she said, and he looked at her again. "I thought you might be making fun of me." "What?" "I believe you now." He felt truly upset. "But why didn't you believe me before?" "At the time, I wanted me dead, too."

There is an old folklore about the Children of the Forest. They were mortal spirits who were the First Benders with the ability to travel freely to the spirit world and to the human realm. Each with their own element of air, water, earth and fire. They were one with their elemental animals and travelled the spirit and human realm freely. Fire Lord Azulon was one of the very few humans aware that this folklore was more than a mere legend, although slightly altered, but factual. He sought out dragons and in one of his searches he found a Child of the Forest with a Fire Element by sheer unfortunate luck and after defeating her, he imprisoned her. As the Sozins Comet approaches and the Avatar Aang prepares to face Firelord Ozai with the help of his friends, it's clear that Zuko and (Y/N)'s paths are more far apart than they know. In the year 96 AG, a freshly burned and banished 13-year-old Prince Zuko discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver the Avatar to his father, Aang helps Zuko and Iroh escape. They take refuge in the abandoned Air Temples, Aang searching for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, he teaches an indoctrinated Zuko about the true nature of the Air Nomads. Zuko must come to terms with the fact that everything he has been taught was a lie, while Iroh must acknowledge and face the sins of his past. Eventually, Aang and Zuko become close friends, and Zuko begins to feel things he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitor accomplices. This AU will explore the friendship and eventual romance that could have happened between Aang and Zuko if the circumstances of their meeting had been different.
