Lana Grayson lost her whole family as she watched her home go down in flames. Her goals and achievements seemed to slip away with the happiness she once knew. It made her realize, when everything seems to be perfectly in place, a piece is bound to break apart, resulting in a massive domino effect. Now living with her cousin and uncle, Lana must start a new life all over again, but she knows things will never be the same.

Zack Taylor is a school truant with a lot of weight on his shoulders. Everything seemed to be coming at him all at once. He's either debating whether he should go to school or not, or he's looking for ways to earn money for his mother's medicine. It scares him most that sooner or later, his mother will pass on, leaving him alone in the world. Not knowing what to do, Zack needs to figure things out before time robs him of his choices.
