Sam and Sydney. Two people from two completely different worlds. Sam is a face you'd see in a Calvin Klein ad, fit with a heart of stone. Sydney is invisible to everyone, friendless and perpetually alone. Whether it's luck or fate or even destiny, their worlds collide and begin to change in the most peculiar way possible; an English assignment
Sam has become detached and void to any feeling, and has long since become numb to the world. He only exists to count down the days until he dies.
Sydney is friendless. She is completely ignored by everyone surrounding her, and has long ago stopped wishing for even the tiniest amount of attention. Her only communications lie with the occasional teacher and the few tight-lipped smiles she receives from people she knows but not enough to talk to.
Throughout a semester-long assignment that forces both Sam and Sydney to open up to what they're feeling inside, Sam becomes more and more intrigued by Sydney. He is completely and utterly shocked to finally be feeling something other than the constant numbness that has plagued him for years. Sydney finds herself oddly uncomfortable and excited to be capturing someone's attention, especially that of the most gorgeous boy she's ever seen.
However, with high school comes drama. And Sam is suffering far more than what meets the eye. Sydney is the only one who can save him, but will she be able to before it's too late?
