James, Sirius and Remus would become his legal guardians for a year. (Thank you, Rich Family Connections! And Albus, you push over, you.) What started out as a way to humiliate Snape turns into something they never thought possible.

This is a story filled with love, loss, anger, betrayal and redemption. How much would the story have changed if Severus's mistakes were a little different? What would have changed if Severus had changed sides sooner? Would Lily forgive him, would her choices be different? How would James, Sirius and Remus play into her life with these changes? Had these things happened along with a chance at redemption and a lot of forgiveness the boy who lived story could have been a lot different. Its been two years since the marauders have graduated. James and Lily are married with a baby on the way, and Sirius and Peter are very busy with the Order. Meanwhile, Remus is just trying to survive his transitions in such a volatile time. No one wants to hire a werewolf, and the Order isn't well enough equipped to handle the full moons. Dumbledore offers him a position at the Hogwarts library as an assistant. There he can do research for the Order, as well as spend his moons like he did during his school years. Tessa Downing is a sixth year Hufflepuff. After a summer of chaos and hiding, she's having trouble transitioning back at school. Constantly worried about her muggle parents, Tessa's grades slip and she begins to spend more time at the library. Thankfully the new assistant is willing to help her.
