A career in baseball, or life in the Marines.
1969. Small town Middle America. Will Brady has always dreamed of playing baseball for the Cincinnati Reds like his idol, Pete Rose. But when he graduates high school, his father has other plans for him. Being a proud war vet himself, he demands Will enlist in the Marines and serve in Vietnam like his older brother, Jim.
While the conflict at home threatens to tear his family apart, Will's baseball team is not only the worst in the league, but is suffering from deep budget cuts. Things go from bad to worse when an African American boy joins the squad, dividing the boys by their views on segregation.
Glory Days explores the struggle for racial equality that is just as relevant today as it was in the Civil Rights Era within the microcosm of a high school baseball team. It also honor our brave soldiers by illustrating the horrors of combat.
At its heart, Glory Days is a story about chasing your dreams, loving your family, and accepting people for who they are.

It goes about max and charles are getting a divorce. They are having one kid together Oliver. Charles has a kid from a previous realtionship named oscar. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Katelyn has been in and out of the foster system since her mother died when she was young. After her father gets put in jail again, she gets sent to live with the Thomas family. The Thomas's are a very well-off family with four boys. Their house is usually the main hangout for the boys and their friends. Kate hasn't ever lived with siblings before, let alone this many boys, so it's a big change for her. Daniel is your typical high school football player; he's got the looks, the muscles, talent, and even the overbearing dad who wants him to go pro. Daniel, however, really couldn't care less about a career in football, he loves the game, but it's his dad's dream for him to go pro, not his own. At least not anymore. He spends most of his free time away from his house and hanging out at either the Thomas or the Copperfield house. He can't wait to go off to college with his friends and get away from his dad and the stupid little town he grew up in. How will things change for them over the next year? This will be a series of 4, but the other books will be spin-offs and can be read as stand-alone books. They will, however, be published in chronological order. Full warning, this book is much shorter than I intend on making the spin-offs. I was planning on writing book two as the first in the series but found myself needing more of a prequel to all three other books, and so I chose to write something from their high school years.
