Imagine a future technology which can cure AIDS, predict strokes, and transplant faces-and only the mafia has it. Vaughn, a compassionate and squeamish debtor, gets to use some of their more portable secret tools. Vaughn did not go to med school.

To pay his debt, Vaughn must find a face, any face from one of four soon-to-die stroke victims. Finding them in a megacasino takes no effort with the medical mafia's tech. The hard part involves collecting the face with the medical mafia's bone saw. While casinos have a way of spitting bad luck at the downtrodden, Vaughn has a few tools to skirt the new dystopian law. He'll need them in his hellish night of choosing (and chasing) his harvest. But which will he end first, his contract or his conscience?

Read "See for Yourself" now for a heart-stopping twist and a taste of medical fiction you'll wish would stay underground.

The Mafia's Doctor

57 parts Complete

[edited version of Doctor for the Mafia] Ila Archer was a doctor working at one of the best hospitals in New York. She loses her license and ability to practice due to, as punishment, taking full responsibility for the 'walking patient' incident. After a full month, Ila runs into the 'walking patient'. Knowing her situation caused by his actions, he offers a once in a lifetime opportunity. ----- "Look, you're a doctor-" He started. "Was." I corrected. "I was a doctor." "You can still be," he said, running his fingers through his dark hair. "Look, you can work for us, and I'll pay triple the amount you were earning at that lousy hospital." "Us?' I asked. Who was he? How exactly does he plan on paying me triple? He grabbed my wrist and pulled me inwards. My face inches away from his chest. With his free hand, he was gently tucking my hair behind my ear. His breath tickled my ear as he whispered two words that sent shivers down my back. "The Mafia."
