To be perfect, is to be flawless. Seventeen year old, Aaleya, will be expected to be just that. It is what is required of everyone now, since the end of the Scourge, when a plague and war changed everything. Aaleya stands to lose everything in her life that she cares about the most if she fails to obtain perfection. In her world, the term “perfection” is more than just a word; more than just an ideal. It is a requirement. To remain with her family in Tamil, she must obtain The Three Perfections, and prove herself in the Petalisms. What if she can't succeed? Will she allow society to determine her fate? Or will she take a stand, and fight? And if she chooses to fight, will she fight alone? Is she willing to risk everything in order to determine her own fate? Aaleya is not perfect, but she refuses to believe that she is not worthy of everything that the perfect are entitled to. She doesn't believe that perfection is real. To Aaleya, it is simply an illusion – an illusion waiting to be destroyed… Copyright All of D. M. Knight's work has been legally Copyrighted.
