Charlotte is faced with the challenges of high school. At first her hopes are high, but then she feels like the world is against her, and thoughts of suicide cross her mind. She surpasses the challenges, marked and scarred for the rest of her life, unbeknown to her that what she had hoped for at her freshman year would arrive at her senior year. Will she reach college? Or will suicide cloud her mind?

Here she is. I can see the slope of her spine through that thin shirt. She's made of angles I ache to smooth with a hand, but I'd use my lips if she asked. I brush her knuckles with mine. Her skin is cold, but she flips her palm for more contact. I lace our fingers. It's enough to make her look at me. As those kaleidoscopic eyes meet mine, I hold my breath. From the outside Juliet Kingston seems to have the perfect life. She has popularity, beauty and a famous dad who seemingly spoils her rotten. But nobody is aware of what happens behind closed doors.
