The voices were coming in and out of my consciousness. My eyes kept fluttering open and shut, only half revealing the scene around me. All I saw was white, while the moving figures were a blurry haze. 

“Stay-“ A voice rang through. I took a deep breath in, smelling nothing but latex and strong rubbing alcohol. I wiggled my nose lazily, trying to escape the 
burning the alcohol was causing in my nostrils. I felt a sharp pinch in my arm. 

“Ouch,” I tried to scream, but I think it only came off as a mumble. I heard sirens, too, but they sounded way closer than just a passing ambulance. 

“Clare,” A voice said again. “-going to be alright. Stay-“ It kept repeating, the tone panicked and caring. Finally, my eyes stayed shut, and everything went silent.
