The Solars

Jason was a normal sophomore in high school, until he was kidnapped and brought to a new world where opposites are enemies. The Solar Kingdom: fire, sun, and lions. The Lunar Kingdom: water, the moon, and wolves. His new friends tell him he is the 'Great One' and that he must defeat the evil Lunar King, Lutherus, and unite the kingdoms, as they once were. Jason also battles depression and anxiety as he trains with his mentor to control his power, and become the hero everyone has waited for. But when his new girlfriend gets poisoned by a Lunar, his emotions hang on the edge as she begins to die.

"It's okay, Jason," she said. He nodded. "Right. I can't just sit here and watch you die." "I've been sitting here watching you get ready to die," she said. She squeezed his hand. Tears welled up in his eyes. "I love you, Hailey." She smiled weakly. "I love you too, Jason." She coughed blood again. He looked away from her. He didn't want to remember her like this. Not now, not when he was training so hard to defeat Lutherus. He stood. "Hailey, I have to go now." "Go where?" "I'm going to kill Lutherus and save you."
