"We did it!" I exclaimed, the smile widening on my lips as I hugged my lover.  After all these years of hard work, I was finally able to reach the top. To not be powerless. To be loved. 
    
    I jerked my head up to give him a kiss before we departed the scene. My lips touched his cheek before I felt a sharp cold pain on my side, and then something warm. I felt my knees buckle as I stared at the dagger protruding from my abdominal, feeling the warmth drain from my face.   
    
    "W-why?" I croaked. I could feel the tears run down my face as the rage and sadness started to engulf me. "I have everything I want," he smiled. "But your not in it." His gang stood behind him, the ones that I treated as my own, with no shred of emotion. My best friend ran from the sidelines, running into his arms. I felt cold, colder than ever before. One thought crossed my mind as my eye sight started to fail, making me grin once more.
