I run my hand down her spine, each individual bone traced over with my fingertips, they poke through her skin like an unwanted guest.. but for her they're in a way wanted. They're a visitor in which she has awaited. Her matchstick arms a congratulations. Her ribs are a ladder reaching out to her heart but she still isn't skinny enough. She reaches her goal and wants to go down more. Looking at the scale is like looking at a clock, ticking down her life until the number hits zero.
