The thrilling story of a girl, a ring, and an open case that took a hundred years to solve.
--------
I sat down on my window seat and opened my book, spotting the window right across from mine. The house was pretty spooky-- if Victorian-era houses count as "spooky". There was a girl staring at me. Not like a "looking off into space" kinda stare, but more like an "I watch you in your sleep" kinda stare. No bueno.
I was about to close my curtains, but I stopped upon seeing how familiar the girl looked. She had dark hair that floated around her like she was underwater, and large doe eyes that were completely silver.
She opened her mouth and raised her hand to the glass, leaving a smudged red hand print. Paralyzed with fear, my eyes met hers. I drowned in a storm of emotions, numb to the core. The window and ceiling began to swirl together, and I collapsed on the floor.
