Seventeen year old Jessica Stacey-Lance went from a preteen with severe anger management issues and trauma to a teenager who makes out (read: sleeps) with her almost-step-brother's best friend and struggles to pass her Spanish class. She's always come off as normal - as normal as one can be when they're unknowingly surrounded by superheroes and hiding a secret backstory.

But one night changes everything.

While Jess has always stayed out of the loop, a chaotic power she thought was long gone has come back and it's caught the attention of some dangerous people.

Suddenly, dealing with her feelings for Richard Grayson, trading scathing insults with Roy and trying to keep her best friends (and herself) out of trouble have all become the least of her worries. She's a little busy keeping a secret that, if outed, could lead to others finding out a lot more than just the fact that she can hold crumbling bridge together or contain explosions that could destroy ten story buildings.

But sometimes, death and destruction follow regardless of your secrets.

Jessica is about to find out that accepting the part of yourself that scares you the most is the only way to defeat your demons... that the power inside of her that can bring Superman to his knees is more than a weapon - it's a part of her that will not be denied, no matter the consequences.

This is a Dick Grayson/Young Justice fanfic. It's not totally canonically correct and dismisses a large portion of the second season. Honestly you could probably read this with only knowledge of the general info on DC comics and be fine.
