It has been three decades since first child of the Alder species was born. A normal child who spoke , played and behaved like anyone. Yet, he saw something not even his parents could understand. His brain worked comprehended things completely differently-for the better.

The Alders have roamed the human population for centuries but have been mistaken for witches, autistic or mad men. Peter Alder was not the first ever of his species to be born, but the first to be acknowledged. Alders are able to read between the lines as if the words are right in front of them,understand emotions and situations above their lives, have larger life expectancy and much more.
They are the gold of the human population.

Our story centers around Evelyn Goldberg, a young high school English teacher with a history of mental health issues, based in the heart of New York City. Evelyn is no Alder, but has an Alder sister. She grew up always trying to be better than her and feeling as if she was useless.
Yet, Evelyn is stunned when a new , bright student named Shira joins her class. With her attractive looks and unusual answers, Evelyn suspects she's an Alder.
As their relationship blooms and Evelyn suspicion turns out to be true, Shira goes against her community and tells her teacher the secrets of the perfect Alder society. Yet, she doesn't know the consequences she will face for being disloyal...
