The Mayor of their city gets a new assistant named Star, and he has a propotion after hearing that these teenagers both have powers.  Especially knowing that Ray has light powers, he asks him and his friend to help him obtain the rare Orb of Light.  Rumor has it that whoever possesses this item will receive a special guardian angel to protect them for the rest of their lives. Not having much else to do on his summer vacation, Ray agrees to travel with Star, Leroy, and Catfairy.
