An 18-year-old girl called Eleanor is admitted to an insane asylum by her step-mother due to her fierce attitude towards the woman her father married only a year after her mother died of pneumonia. Unexpectedly, Elle meets a young man who had been admitted to the sanatorium after being diagnosed with schizophrenia, which was a total mistake in Elle's eyes, he should have been charged with just being a complete and utter egotistical ass. 
  
  As Elle continues to fight for her right to be herself even in the direst of situations, will she manage to keep coming out with hope for her and everyone else's freedom? Or will she end up being just a shell of her old self?
